1326AS-B440G-21-A Servo Motor by ALLEN BRADLEY

1326AS-B440G-21-A is an Allen‑Bradley Rockwell Automation Bulletin 1326AS low-inertia brushless AC servo motor, resolver feedback type, designed for the legacy 1394 motion control system. It adopts neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnet rotor to deliver fast acceleration and high peak torque, widely used as spare replacement for CNC machine tools, printing lines, packaging equipment and automated material handling axes.

This 1326AS frame B440G variant is rated for 460V three-phase operation, rated power 2 kW, maximum speed 5350 RPM. It is equipped with a rugged 2-pole resolver for commutation and position feedback, no delicate onboard encoder electronics. Resolver signal is highly resistant to shock, vibration, high temperature and oil contamination, making it a preferred option for harsh workshop environments. The suffix /21 stands for standard shaft and connector configuration, while the final -A denotes a minor factory revision release, mechanically and electrically drop-in compatible with base 1326AS-B440G-21 units.

It features extruded aluminum housing for better heat dissipation, TENV fully enclosed construction and IP65 environmental sealing when properly mated with matching cables. A built-in normally closed thermal switch inside the winding provides overtemperature alarm protection. The stator uses sinusoidal winding to guarantee ultra-smooth low-speed running, critical for precision indexing, profiling and synchronized motion tasks. Precision rotor balancing reduces vibration at high continuous operation speed. Mounting follows standard IEC metric flange with keyed metric shaft, bayonet quick-release connectors for faster field wiring and service.

The entire 1326AS series is end-of-life discontinued by Rockwell. It is not intended for new machine builds; almost all demand comes from maintenance, retrofit and spare stock for existing 1394 racks. It will not work plug-and-play with newer Kinetix drives. Retrofit requires feedback conversion, mechanical adapter plate and drive program rework. Dedicated resolver feedback cable and motor power cable assemblies are required for correct wiring.
