Functional Purpose

This module is a half-height, two-channel unit designed to provide key phase signals to the monitor module within the 3500 Machinery Protection System framework. It receives input signals from eddy current sensors or electromagnetic sensors, converting them into digital key phase signals that indicate when the key phase marks on the rotating shaft pass the key phase probe.

Signal Processing Capability

Compared with previous designs, this module offers enhanced key signal processing performance while maintaining full backward compatibility in appearance, installation, and functionality with existing key phasor modules.

System Configuration

The 3500 mechanical protection system supports up to four key phase signals in a standard configuration and up to eight signals in a paired configuration.
For Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) applications requiring system keying inputs, the 3500 system utilizes two key phasor modules operating in parallel, providing primary and secondary keying signals to other modules installed in the rack.
