MOTOROLA MVME2304-0141 VME Processor Modules

The MVME2300 is a versatile embedded VMEbus controller and PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) carrier board developed by Motorola. It combines PowerPC processing performance with flexible PMC expansion, making it suitable for telecommunications, industrial control, defense, and embedded computing applications.

Overview

The MVME2300 is based on either the:

MPC603 PowerPC processor
MPC604R PowerPC processor

It functions as both:

A VMEbus single-board computer
An intelligent PMC carrier platform for custom I/O expansion

This architecture allows users to tailor the system to specific application requirements by adding PMC modules.

PMC Expansion Capability
Onboard PMC Support

The MVME2300 can accommodate:

One double-width PMC module, or
Two single-width PMC modules

These PMCs mount directly on the carrier board.

PMCspan Expansion

For additional expansion, the board supports the:

PMCspan PCI expansion mezzanine

Using one or two PMCspan modules, users can install:

Up to four additional PMC modules

This significantly increases available I/O and processing options.
