System Overview

The system is a highly reliable and responsive redundant tachometer system designed for mechanical overspeed protection. It fully complies with the overspeed protection standards of the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 and API 612, ensuring safety and stability in critical rotating machinery applications.

Technical Specifications

Input Signal:
Each module receives signals from eddy current sensors or magnetic sensors, with an input signal voltage range of +10.0 V to -24.0 V and an input impedance of 20 kΩ.

Magnetic sensors

Alarm Setting:
The danger (overspeed) setpoint is configured via software, adjustable between 0% and 100% of the full-scale range.
When the input frequency exceeds 300 Hz, the alarm delay is less than 30 ms, ensuring rapid system response.

Output:

Front coaxial connector for buffered signal output

Output impedance: 550 Ω

Sensor power supply: 24 VDC, maximum 40 mA

Recorder output: +4 to +20 mA, proportional to the module’s full-scale RPM range
