Overview

The 3500/50 Keyphasor Monitor provides phase reference and rotational speed measurements for use by other monitors and the machinery protection system within the 3500 rack. A Keyphasor signal represents a once-per-turn pulse (or multiple pulses per turn) from a rotating shaft, enabling the system to determine shaft speed, phase angle, and other dynamic characteristics essential for vibration analysis and machine diagnostics.

The 3500/50 receives input from proximity probes or magnetic pickups that detect a once-per-revolution target on the machine shaft. It processes this signal to generate a Keyphasor reference pulse used by other vibration and speed monitoring modules.

Multi-Channel Input:
Provides up to two independent Keyphasor signal inputs, allowing monitoring of two separate shafts or two independent Keyphasor transducers on a single shaft.

Flexible Input Compatibility:
Accepts signals from proximity probes (typically 5 mm or 8 mm systems) or magnetic pickups, with field-configurable trigger levels.

Signal Processing:
Converts raw input signals into conditioned, TTL-compatible pulses for internal rack distribution and analysis by vibration and speed monitors.

Status Indication:
The front panel includes OK, TX/RX, and Bypass LEDs to indicate module health, communication activity, and bypass condition.

Provides Keyphasor signals to other modules (e.g., 3500/42M, 3500/45, 3500/46M) for synchronous measurements and phase-triggered analysis.
