3500/34 TMR Relay Module Overview

The 3500/34 TMR Relay Module consists of two primary components:

Two TMR Relay Modules, and

One TMR Relay I/O Module

After configuration, the two TMR Relay Modules operate in parallel, providing redundant relay functionality to support high system availability.

Component Functions
TMR Relay Module

The TMR Relay Module controls alarm relay outputs by generating three independent Alarm Contact Signals for each of the four relay channels, based on user-defined Alarm Drive Logic.

Key characteristics include:

Alarm Drive Logic is configured individually for each relay channel using the 3500 Rack Configuration Software.

In a TMR (Triple Modular Redundant) rack, three independent monitor channels simultaneously supply alarm inputs (such as Channel Alerts, Channel Dangers, and Monitor Alerts).

These alarm inputs are delivered through three separate and independent data paths.

The TMR Relay Module:

Evaluates each data path independently

Generates three corresponding Alarm Contact Signals

Sends these Alarm Contact Signals to the TMR Relay I/O Module

If the OK status of any data path is NOT OK, the Alarm Contact Signal associated with that data path is marked as invalid, preventing false or unreliable relay actuation.

TMR Relay I/O Module

The TMR Relay I/O Module receives the Alarm Contact Signals from both TMR Relay Modules and provides the physical relay interface to the external system.
