The Bently Nevada 3500/22M Rack Interface Module (RIM) serves as the primary communication interface between the 3500 monitoring rack and external systems. It enables configuration, data exchange, and system diagnostics, ensuring reliable communication and integration with plant control and monitoring systems.

1. Data Communication

• Acts as the main communication interface for the 3500 rack.

• Supports Bently Nevada proprietary communication protocol and RS-232 / RS-422 serial interfaces.

• Maximum cable length:

  • RS-232: up to 30 m

  • RS-422: up to 1200 m

• Data transfer rate: 38.4 kbaud.

• Enables stable and high-speed communication between the rack and external systems.

2. System Configuration

• Supports rack configuration and machine information read/write through Bently Nevada proprietary protocol.

• Compatible with both local and remote configuration modes.

• Allows configuration and parameter adjustment of other modules within the same 3500 rack.

3. Security Protection

• Built-in password protection mechanism.

• Communication with the 3500 rack is only permitted after the correct password is entered, matching the rack configuration software.

• Enhances overall system security and prevents unauthorized access.

4. Status Monitoring

• Front panel LED indicators provide at-a-glance system status:

  • TX/RX: Communication activity

  • CONFIG OK: Configuration status

  • OK Relay: Module health and rack operation condition

• Enables quick fault diagnosis and system status verification.
