The Bently Nevada 3500/22M Rack Interface Module (RIM) serves as the primary communication interface between the 3500 monitoring rack and external systems. It enables configuration, data exchange, and diagnostic monitoring, ensuring reliable integration with control and asset management networks.

1. Data Communication

• Supports RS-232 and RS-422 serial communication interfaces.

• Maximum communication cable length:

  • RS-232: up to 30 meters

  • RS-422: up to 1200 meters

• Data rate: 38.4 kbaud

• Compatible with Bently Nevada proprietary communication protocols for data exchange with external systems.

2. System Configuration

• Rack configuration and machine information can be read and written via the proprietary protocol.

• Supports local and remote configuration modes.

3. Security Protection

• Equipped with a password protection function.

• Communication with the 3500 rack is only permitted when the entered password matches the configuration software credentials, ensuring system security and integrity.

4. Status Monitoring and Diagnostics

• Front-panel LED indicators include:

  • TX/RX – Communication activity

  • CONFIG OK – Configuration status

  • OK Relay – Module health indication

• Provides quick visual diagnostics and system operational feedback.
